OOTD 23/6/2013

This week has been a manic blur of packing, cleaning, more packing, and even more cleaning! We're moving from one student property to the other on Sunday, and we're just about prepared finally! I surprisingly don't have that much stuff to move compared to my flat mate becky (she has a ridiculous amount of boxes to move!) so hopefully it won't be too stressful. We had an absolutely awful experience last year moving out of halls and into a property which had 101 problems, and a really awful company that bought us to tears of stress this time last year! We can't wait to get rid of them and move from a 3 story flat to a house (with a garden!) with a much smaller company that will hopefully be so much better! The best thing about moving it how I love to unpack and make a room your own, and I've been thinking about a few little DIY projects for my room and a few new things I could buy.. exciting times!

On sunday night I went out and wore one of my new tops from the Topshop sale. I wanted to dress the cropped floral top up slightly, so I opted for a black body con skirt and bare legs (and lots of fake tan!), I felt so summery! With this I wore black flatforms (perfects for dancing the night away with no pain!), a metallic bag, and my new rop beaded necklace which I also picked up in the sale. I think this top would look equally as nice with a denim skirt or some high waist treggings for a daytime look. I wore my black leather jacket over the top so I didn't get too chilly walking home, which surprisingly I managed to fold up and zip up in my clutch! Don't you love saving money on cloak rooms...

Top - Topshop
Skirt - Topshop (old)
Necklace - Topshop
Bag & Shoes - Primark

I've also noticed recently that my hair has grown crazy fast after having it cut short! It's in so much better condition and feels really thick and healthy at the ends. Before I usually had to use a deep conditioner a few times a week but this hairstyle is so much more low maintenance! I also don't have to wash it every day which I used to (bad I know!) but maybe this is why it's grown so fast as it's had all the good oils and things from my roots. Time to book another haircut soon I think!

Sale Buys feat. Topshop & Zara

It's that time of year again and the sales are in full swing. I'm never really a fan of rifling through most of the sale rails in shops, but Topshop always excites me when there's a sale on, and I always find something nice in there! This week was no exception, and I surprisingly found some beauties in my size! Isn't that just the best feeling?!

Crop top - Reduced to £12

I think this was something like £23 before, so it was pretty much half price. They had quite a few of them and they caught my eye, I really loved the summery colours and pretty floral print. The fabric is quite stiff but the shaped neckline is really flattering, and the cross strap detail back, little pocket and elasticated fit really make it a lovely good quality top. I thought this would be worn day or night, and dressed up or down really easily. I can imagine I'll be wearing this right up until winter!

Denim dress - Reduced  to £18

This was £38 originally so was definitely a bargain! I really liked the simplicity of this A-line dress, and looked really lovely on. It looks huge here but it fits really well! I was tempted to take it back but after wearing it today I think it's muscled its way into my wardrobe.. oops.

I had to limit myself to the amount of jewellery I bought as I grab it like there's no tomorrow when it's half price as it's usually ridiculously expensive! These little neon triangle earrings were just over £3, and think they'll add a pop of colour to any outfit. I also bought this beaded rope necklace for about £7, all of them were damaged but I got the one which was the least, and even then it was only on one side.

Zara perfumes - LA reduced to £9.99
Applejuice £9.99

I've run out of ALL of my perfumes at once, which is the worst thing to happen, especially when you're birthday is only a month or so away (and your boyfriend will most probably get you some new perfume as he is useless at gifts!) but I've really missed my favourite smell! This zara applejuice perfume I discovered through my friend wearing it (I ALWAYS seem to buy perfume that I smell on other's first!) and has become one of my favourite scents. At £9.99 too, this bottle lasts a good few months and is great as it doesn't break the bank! I had bought this when my friend Becky shouted over to me 'There's perfume that's on sale!' and I ran back (She also smashed one of the testers on the floor, I can't take her anywhere..) I had looked at these 'Los Angeles' and 'Miami' perfumes before and they smell amazing. They were reduced from £12.99 to £9.99, so I thought I might as well make the most of it and get one. The box has palm trees on the side (not shown) and the bottle is an ombre of green and is sooo pretty, and it smells just amazing. If you've never tried perfumes from Zara I would highly reccomend them, they are such good value! I'm so glad I'm now fully stocked up for a few months for under £20!

Have you picked up any amazing sale buys yet?!

Holiday outfits!

Its safe to say I've accepted being back in the UK for a week now, and find the grey cloud so depressing! Over my holiday in Italy I took most of my new wardrobe additions from my London shopping trip with my sister a few weeks back, and I loved creating some new summery outfits my new pieces! I had some things which I'd saved especially too and couldn't wait to wear them. Here are a few of my outfits I wore over the week!

Travelling outfit
Everything - Primark!
My sister took this oh so flattering photo of my texting whilst queuing to get on the plane, but I thought at least it showed my outfit! I opted for this really comfy midi dress and denim jacket and scarf. I find these are nice just to keep you warm on the plane, and the scarf can be used as a wrap or pillow on the plane! I had to wear my straw hat otherwise it would have got swished in my case!

Day one:
Sunglasses - Speckyfoureyes.com (prescription, same throughout)
Everything - Primark

The first day we were there we had a walk round a local italian town and had stopped at a couple of coffee shops. The weather was slightly cloudy, so this jumpsuit was perfect. It's so light and comfortable and felt as if I was wearing pajamas! I styled it simply with a tan belt, my mini basket bag and some black sandals.
My sunglasses are prescription and aren't the most amazing in the world, but at least I can see through them! I am definitely looking into contact lenses as I've been so jealous of my friends recently picking up really trendy sunglasses!

Day two:
Top and sandals - Primark
Shorts and bag - H&M
Necklace - Topshop

This day we did some sightseeing around a beautiful italian town called Ousitini. The little streets and steps were such a gorgeous place to take some outfit photos!  I wanted to catch the sun so I wore my denim shorts with this really cute polkadot top, and my new daisy necklace which just cutens up any outfit!

Day three:
Everything - Primark

This day we headed to a local mall to have a bit of a shop! I decided to go quite casual with my denim skater skirt and cropped tee. I've really got into mixing and matching colours in my outfits recently, and the neon necklace and pink lipstick just gives it an extra oomph!

Day four:
Everything - Primark (Can you tell I love primark?!)

This day we went to a local market. We went early in the morning as before it got too hot, but I knew it would be boiling anyway, so I chose this cool cami printed top and my denim shorts. My new Barry M bright orange lippy worked great with this top.

Day five:
Everything - Primark

This maxi dress was a great, easy comfy option for being out in the heat. We went to the local supermarket and helped my auntie and uncle out, it's so strange they still have to do their weekly shop but in a different country! The italian supermarkets are amazing, and full of fresh food and VERY cheap alcohol!! I paired the dress with a tan belt, statement necklace and little basket bag.

Day Six
Top and shoes - Primark
Skirt - Forever 21
Necklace - Topshop

For our last night we planned to dress up and go for dinner, but being in rural Italy, everything was shut on a Monday evening! Apparently Italians like to open and close their businesses as they please! We ended up just dressing up for one of my uncle's amazingly cooked meals and had a couple of drinks. I was terrified to wear this new skirt as I'm so scared I'm going to stain it! I love these new flatforms, they are perfect and so comfy. I think this was a really nice smart casual look that I could wear on a hot summer's day at home.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I took alot of clothes I didn't wear, but that always seems to be the case! Now I'm home I'm having to convert all my new bits into outfits that will keep me a bit warmer!

Home from Italia!

Hi everyone, hope you are all well! On tuesday I got home from a week in Italy! Although it is majorly depressing coming home from blazing sunshine and blue skies, I was kind of glad to be home as I'd missed my boyfriend lots and it was getting unbearably hot to sunbathe out there, over 35 degrees some days! My auntie and uncle moved out to southern Italy a year or so ago and bought a wonderful villa (complete with olive tree orchid!), so my mum, sister and I now take holidays to visit them. The first couple of days were actually really cloudy and windy which was a bummer, but I did manage to get a decent bit of tan :)

It was really lovely to spend time with the family and get some sun, and one of the main highlights was their new pets! There are alot of stray dogs in Italy, and my auntie wanted to adopt one (I don't blame her, I'd probably take them all in the poor things!) when a couple of their friends discovered two sister puppies which had been abandoned in a blocked off feild, with no food, water, or mummy dog in sight. They took them in, luckily they were in perfect health and very friendly (just very hungry and thirsty) and are now named Poppy and Cara, and live in the villa! I love animals, although I've never had a dog of my own, spending a week with these little pups really made me want to own one one day! They are adorable, lovable animals which breaks your heart to think they would have been left for dead if they hadn't be found. We got plenty of licks and cuddles with the playful puppies, and I fell in love with little poppy, she loved having her belly rubbed!

As my auntie and uncle live in quite a remote area in the countryside, it's not very touristy, which is nice as it is very relaxing and quiet, but not many people speak English! We did lots of things like visit the local town, markets, shopping centers and some more touristy areas which were really nice, and just relaxed in the sun!
Here are a few photos from the week (I came back with more photos of the dogs than anything else haha!):

The 'share a coke' was also done there, but it was funny seeing all the names such as 'Ricardo' and 'Fabio' on there, as well as these 'la sexy' and 'la blogger' ones I found! I haven't put many photos of myself up as I am saving those for my next post - my outfits of the day!
Hope you enjoyed this post, are you jet setting off anywhere in the sun soon?!

OOTD 07/06/2013

Hi everyone, hope you are having a lovely weekend! It's so weird that it's already a week into June, these months are going by faster and faster! Just wanted to share an outfit with you that I wore on friday to do some bits in town.

Top & Sandals - Topshop
Jeans & Satchel - Primark

I kept the outfit simple as I really wanted to take my new satchel out! It's quite 'out there' for me but I really love it, and it just adds a flash of colour to any boring outfit! I teamed my new boyfriend jeans with this grey knit loose top. I love these sandals, I got them in the Topshop sale from £45 to £20, and they're real leather so they're so comfy. These jeans look so effortlessly cool, and I can't wait to wear them all summer.

This will probably be my last blog post before I'm away on holiday from Tuesday, so I'll be back soon and I look forward to getting back and sharing some outfit snaps from my holiday with you all!

OOTD 4/06/2013

Just wanted to share with you all my outfit I wore shopping in London on tuesday! As I felt like I needed to go and pretty much buy a new wardrobe, I put on the coolest, most comfortable clothes I had as I knew I'd get hot and sweaty when it was 20 degrees in central London!

Top & Bag - Primark (old)
Skirt - Topshop
Boots - Office
Shoes - Office
Excuse the pasty legs!

I didn't even take a jacket as I knew I'd be rushing round all day, and I'm so glad I didn't! It was a beautiful day in London. We only got time to go down the whole of oxford street, my sister an I were contemplating an open bus tour but we didn't have the time! :( I love going to London as I don't get to go that often, and we only realized once we were there that we had missed the Queen's 60th coronation parade! Here are some of my snaps of the day.

I finally found a coke bottle with my boyfriend's name on! I was more excited then he was haha.

ALOT of clothes from Primark!

What I've been buying update! (Primark and Forever 21 Haul)

(WARNING: Photo heavy/long post!!)

Hi everyone! Hope you are good! What is with all this weird weather?! I'm not sure what it's like in other parts of the UK, but this morning up till about midday there were thunderstorms and heavy rain over Southampton.. It seems like it's cleared up now and it's back to sunshine and warmth. So strange!

Luckily I was happily curled up in bed with the boyfriend who was visiting and slept through most of it! I'm a very happy girly right now, this week was the first time me and my boyfriend could spend a good couple of days quality time together! He came to Southampton and Wednesday night we went to see the Great Gatsby, which was amaaaaazzinnggg! I had wanted to see it for so long and it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved all the costumes, acting and music, it was a brilliant film. Yesterday we just chilled out and had a couple of cocktails on the rooftop of a local bar as it was so hot and sunny, was so lovely!

Tuesday my sister and I hit London for a greatly anticipated shopping trip, and I have to say I went a bit mad.. I had weeks of pent up shopping fustration in me, and I bought near enough a whole new summer wardrobe! I couldn't have had a nicer week! To top it off, I'm going on holiday on Monday to South of Italy with my mum and sister, as my auntie and uncle live out there now. They have a lovely villa and have recently adopted two little doggies, so I cannot wait for a week of sunbathing, relaxing, and playing with two adorable pups!

So anyway! Here is my huuuge haul which includes all the bits I got in London, and including some extra bits I've exhanged or bought for my hols! Enjoy!

First off, beauty!:

A miniture bodywash (I loooooove minitures haha!) and ff course, sun cream is an essential. I never bother spending over £4 for a bottle, because I think some of the named brands are ridiculously overpriced! It's about £8 a bottle now isn't it?! I just picked up these cheapy brands at aldi and savers, and a huge bottle of aftersun for my sunburn! I also picked up this cheap disposable camera. Not sure how good it will be, but I think my fish eye has broken, so this will hopefully still give me some cute film photos.

Now this was a bit of an impulse buy! I actually went into boots to get something but it was out of stock, but this caught my eye. I saw it on someone else's blog a while ago and thought, 'that's such a good idea, a bronzing primer'! It's basically a mattifying primer which when rubbed into the skin leaves a gorgeous healthy brown tint to the skin, and will be great to use on nights out and when I'm on holiday, rather then using my wash off fake tan. It's very dark brown which is scary but has a lovely texture, but using a tiny amount of the tester on my hand gave a really nice colour, so I think this will last me a while. It was also on offer with £3 off, so that pretty much sealed the deal for me! It also has a gorgeous chocolaty fragrance which is amazing.

How gorgeous is this necklace?! I originally wanted to buy it in London but it was sold out! Luckily they still had some in my local store, so it must be really popular. Ever since I saw it I wanted it. It was rather pricey but I know you couldn't get a necklace like this anywhere else, and I will definitely be wearing it all summer. It's so adorable. But as soon as I got it home I realized the two daisies at the front look like they're not stuck on in the right places.. call me fussy but I think It's quite noticeable, and I'm going to go back in there tomorrow to exchange it for another one.. fingers crossed they don't sell out by tomorrow!!

Now for Primark:

I'd wanted some ripped boyfriend jeans for a while, and these were a steal at £13. They're real comfy and look alot more expensive then they were. I bought these aztec trousers for my holiday and I wore them yesterday and they were sooo comfty, so I went back and got some more colourful ones today.

This is my favourite thing. Ever. Primark?! I hear you say? Yep. I knew it was only a matter of time before Primark jumped on the neon satchel bandwagon.. I've wanted one for agesss, and I could have jumped for joy when I saw this in the bags section. I knew I had to have it! It was only £9 too, and is the perfect size, and pretty much looks exactly like a Cambridge Satchel Company one... cheeky. Can't wait to use this over summer!

4 perfect summer tops. I wanted some more plain coloured camis but I only found this really pretty summery one. The red polkadot one just reminded me of some of Topshop's current stock and would be perfect just with denim shorts. I'm a bit unsure about this sporty one as it's not my usual style, but with ripped jeans it looks really casual, if I don't wear it I could just take it on holiday for a cover up anyway! I was on a mission to get out of my black and white colour rut and picked up this cute green cropped boyfriend tee.

I really wanted some printed trousers and I saw these and they reminded me of ones Topshop had in a while ago that I wanted, they fit so nicely and look great with just a black top. I'd also wanted this denim skater skirt for a while but they never had my size in my local store, luckily they had lots in London :) And finally a sunhat for my holidays!

Flatforms! Yess! I'd seen these in my local store in bright red and I only wish they had them in black. Behold, I saw these and grabbed my size, I'd been looking for some perfect flatforms for ages and I am SO happy with these!

These cute sandals were only about £3 I think! Such a bargain, they're so comfy too.

This skirt is from forever 21 (needs an iron, sorry!), I love it so much! It's such a simple shape and style that it will pretty much go with anything. I'm a bit warey of wearing it out or with fake tan on though as I don't want to ruin it!

This is also from forever 21. I really loved the print and splash of colour. I wore it the other day with my black Topshop treggings for the cinema, it could definitely be dressed up or down.

And FINALLYYYY, I bought this lippy in Topshop oxford street, so I got student discount so it was under a fiver! I really wanted an orangey/coral lippy, and this one is really bright! I'm not sure if I like it or I can pull it off, but I will be trying in the next few weeks!

I hope you enjoyed that huge haul, I always love being nosey and seeing what other people have been buying! I have definitely done my fair share of shopping for the summer season, and I'll have lots of new outfit posts to put on here! Yay! I absolutely love having new clothes :) I hope you all have a great weekend!  Now I actually need to pack for my holiday.. oh dear!
