An i-D shoot

As part of our fashion promotion course, were currently doing a fashion styling unit, which is one of my favourite areas, although the current project we are doing has been a bit of a nightmare! The theme is 'diversity', and we have to use models who are unique/different in some way, and not like ordinary models. For instance, some people are using models with loads of freckles, some are using black models, and some are using heavily tattooed models. We have to create a magazine style article for i-D magazine, with a 2 page written piece. The problem with this is that we all have to actually find unique looking models that are genuine, and can't use just anyone! For my photo shoot I am doing tomorrow, I am using a 'plus size' model with a neon, sports luxe theme (photos will be on here!), using my friend Lorren who kindly (reluctantly!) agreed to model! My friend Caroline did hers yesterday, with her 'goth/emo' theme. She found two models who were happy to model their gothic style for her, but one of her models dropped out last minute, so our friend becky agreed to be gothed up for the photos! I went along to help her out with the styling.

None of them were professional models but they looked amazing! She bought all the clothing and accessories, and the styling looked really amazing. The feather neck corset cost £30 alone from ASOS marketplace! She did it in front of a new build Sea City centre in Southampton, as the graphic lines of the building contrasted well against the gothic style. It was absolutley freezing cold and everyone froze, but she got some great shots! Fingers crossed my shoot goes as well! :)
